Traditional credit was built for people who already have money. Requirements for credit history, collateral, and costly underwriting create insurmountable barriers for those who need capital most. Over 1.4 billion people lack access to credit. A vendor in Lagos earns cash daily but can't prove a steady income. A Colombian nurse with years of perfect informal repayments remains invisible to banks.
We built an alternative called Credit. Since December 2024, it has issued hundreds of thousands of undercollateralized loans using stablecoins. People from around the world have used these loans to pay for things like groceries, medicine, and transportation. Backed by $6.6 million from Paradigm and Nascent, we're scaling a system that has already reached half a million unique borrowers. Help us take it to the next level.
About the role
We seek a product designer to own the UI/UX design of our mobile products, including Credit, our leading undercollateralized lending system. You'll shape the experience for hundreds of thousands of users, focusing on visual quality, intuitive interaction design, and building a scalable design system for consumer crypto.
Key responsibilities
Own the visual design and user experience for our mobile app
Translate credit and risk concepts into clear, intuitive user flows for mainstream consumers
Define and maintain our mobile design system, including components, tokens, and patterns
Conduct lightweight research (interviews, prototypes, usability tests) to validate flows and inform design decisions
Contribute to brand and marketing design when necessary; comfortable wearing multiple hats
Requirements
4+ years as a Product Designer or UX/UI Designer for consumer-facing mobile apps
Exceptional visual and UI design skills with meticulous attention to typography, hierarchy, spacing, and interaction detail
Hands-on experience in consumer fintech (e.g., neobanking, lending, payments, personal finance, investing, or wallets)
Deep understanding of native mobile patterns and constraints for iOS and Android
Experience building design systems with the right balance of structure and flexibility
Strong collaboration skills with product and engineering teams
Knowledge of when to use research vs. intuition to inform design decisions
Long-term product vision; the design systems you create will scale and compound over time
Nice to have
Experience designing credit or lending products for mobile
Experience as an early designer at a founder-led startup
Comfort using product metrics, funnels, and experiment results to inform design decisions
